Rev. Brad Stapleton
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! My name is Brad Stapleton, and I am the pastor of East Stone Gap UMC. As many of you know, East Stone Gap is my home church, and is the place where I was born, baptized, and where I began my relationship with Christ. The sanctuary where we worship sits atop the land where I lived as a child, and also encompasses the area where my great-grandfather’s house once stood. Needless to say, I am excited to be coming home!
I have been married for 10 years to my wonderful wife Rebecca, who is originally from Knoxville, TN. We met one another during a revival at First Alcoa UMC. Rebecca and I have two daughters, Felicity (age 6) and Paige (age 3), who are a wonderful blessing from God. Rebecca’s and my favorite hobby is pursuing fitness goals through weight lifting and choosing healthy eating options. We also enjoy outdoor activities and watching the Vols play!
I am a 1995 graduate of Powell Valley High School. I received my bachelor’s degree from University of Tennessee in 1999, and my Master of Divinity Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2010. My ministry passions include evangelism, discipleship, mission outreach (both local and international), and children’s and youth ministry. Rebecca’s ministry passions include counseling pregnant teens and working with children and youth.
We eagerly anticipate serving God and others together with you!
